It’s really easy to have your blinders up when you’re focused on a project. When struggling for an idea, sometimes it’s best to take a breath, and be open to possibility. That’s what happened for our Gala Gal Lauren Smith as she was creating the September page for our yearly holiday calendar gift.
Since it’s inception, Lauren has found creative and inventive ways to celebrate each month through her design of the calendar. This year, the focus was an homage to a different style of art. Stuck on September, she took a break from her work to get a glass of water, and just happened to look up above the sink.
This awesome vintage circus poster sparked the exact inspiration that Lauren needed and thus you have our fun and whimsical September calendar page. This is a poster she sees almost everyday. It’s been hung up in the Ranch since we expanded to a second floor in 2005. It wasn’t until Lauren was able to step away from her frustration, take a step back, and open herself up to possibility did this everyday object become an inspiration.
