The Tang Dynasty is considered by many to be the golden age of Chinese civilization and one of the greatest periods of Chinese art & culture. The statue is a beautiful example of the style of the Tang court lady, whose ample proportions were stylish among aristocratic women at the time, and is one of the pieces derived from the Art Institute’s collection & exhibitions.
